Meet Candace & Marcus
One of my favorite Disney movies is Beauty & the Beast. In the movie’s first song “Belle”, Belle sings about her most recent book while the rest of the town sings about her:
“Oh isn’t this amazing?
It’s my favorite part because you’ll see…
Here’s where she meets Prince Charming,
But she won’t discover that it’s him till chapter three!”
In my head, Candace & Marcus are the couple in the book Belle is singing about. Their love is the kind of connection that love stories are made out of! Candace & Marcus first met several times without actually knowing it. They both worked the same part-time job at a BBQ restaurant, and it took a few weeks of hidden glances and “accidental” run-ins before they had their first conversation.
“One conversation and I was hooked on who he was!”
Marcus has that effect. His words are intentional and heartwarming, while his smile is infectious. Candace is the same way, and spending an afternoon with them in Colorado Springs felt like going on a hike with old friends. Marcus has three children from a previous marriage, and Candace has wholeheartedly welcomed them into her heart. I loved hearing about their blended family and seeing their honest smiles throughout their engagement shoot. At the time of their engagement session, my daughter was two months old, and getting enough sleep was a challenge. They spouted off helpful tips on how to help my baby sleep through the night. I took their advice and implemented a nightly bathtime routine as soon as I got home, and it’s now Noelle’s favorite time of the day! Looking through their photos, it is difficult for me to pick my favorites! The way their outfits complimented the scenery of Red Rocks Canyon Open Space makes their genuine smiles glow! Enjoy these engagement photos, scroll down to see their one-of-a-kind handshake, and know that I’m counting down the days until Candace & Marcus’s wedding this August.
